At GEMS American Academy Abu Dhabi, we are strong believers in the power of collaboration, critical thinking, and the promising potential of our youth. “We Inspire. We Challenge. We Innovate. We Care.” This event has been independently organized by the students of Gems American Academy. We hope to spread and celebrate the spirit of ideas by bringing people together to share a TED-like experience.

“Adjust Your Lens” is the theme for our 2019 event. This theme urges individuals to start looking at the world in a different way than how society tells us to look at it. It shows how once we start looking at the world differently, it will affect our actions, our mental health, and how we interact with other people. This theme inspires students to build the world around them the way they would like to look at it. The diversity of students at Gems American Academy adds to the theme since each student has their own story to tell about how changing their point of view affected each of them individually.
